Getting paid to ride isn't just for the pros anymore. 🚲💰 A recent report from SFGATE highlights how the city is successfully paying commuters to ditch their cars for bikes—and the results are impressive.

Here is a look at how they’re doing it and what it means for the future of sustainable travel.

🚲 The "Bike Love" Effect
Palo Alto launched a program that rewards traditional cyclists, e-bike riders, and even e-scooter users with cash incentives to spend at local businesses. It’s an innovative way to "gamify" the carless commute, and it's working.

The initiative has already made a significant dent in the city's carbon footprint:

The irony is officially off the charts. 📈 We don't think it’s "goofy" to want reliable, local power that isn't tied to global oil spikes—we think it’s common sense.

A recent Politico report found that while Senator Tim Sheehy has been calling green energy "goofy, subsidized crap" on the campaign trail, his own Bozeman home is powered by... you guessed it: rooftop solar and battery storage installed during the period of tax credits. His response, “It’s my personal home, so it’s not really any of your business." Read the full article in our bio – it's full of interesting nuggets.

Even the biggest critics of 'green energy crap' seem to love it when it's powering their own homes. Why? Because energy independence isn't a partisan issue—it's just smart. We think everyone deserves the same access to reliable, local power that Washington politicians have.

This isn't just about hypocrisy; it’s about access. The Senator has voted to scrap the very tax credits that help regular families afford the same energy security he has. This is exactly why that story about Sheehy is blowing up right now. He has his solar and battery system installed already—meaning he "got his" before he voted to remove those same credits for everyone else.

By removing the residential credits while the "big" fossil fuel tax breaks remain part of the permanent tax code, the gap between renewable and fossil fuel support has actually widened again in 2026.

Everyone’s invited to join a fun, all-levels group ride on Sunday, March 15 in San Francisco! Meet at the Flywheel Coffee outdoor kiosk at 8:45am for pre-ride coffee and mingling — then rolling out at 9:00am. E-bikes welcome, and you can choose a pace or route that works for you 🚲✨.

We’ll regroup at Equator Café in Sausalito for snacks, and from there riders can:
• Ferry back to SF
• Bike back from Sausalito
• Or keep going to Tiburon & beyond

Whether you’re prepping for a big ride, meeting new folks, or just want a great weekend adventure, come ride with us! ❤️‍🔥
