Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club’s (AMC’s) mission is to foster the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. We envision a world where our natural resources are healthy, loved, and always protected, and where the outdoors occupies a place of central importance in every person’s life.
AMC sponsors a wide range of activities, including education, research, advocacy, trail stewardship, volunteer projects, public service programs, and outdoor publications. Our 285,000 constituents (members, advocates, supporters) are served through our 12 volunteer-led Chapters (Maine to Washington, D.C.) and through our regional offices and facilities. Climate Ride funds would support our conservation, education, and recreation initiatives across our region.
