Meet Climate Rider Kristin Berger

For Kristin, Climate Ride is an opportunity to share what she has learned about climate change solutions. “Proven technological, financial and social solutions exist now,” she says. “I want to empower others to make a difference and show them how easy it can be to start this crucial conversation.”

Kristin is riding for the Center for Climate Protection (CCP) to raise awareness of their programs in Northern California and to advance their work reducing greenhouse gas emissions in communities everywhere.  CCP is now working with business, government and philanthropic partners to bring community choice aggregation, innovation in transportation, and youth leadership into the emerging clean energy economy conversations across California.

Kristin is dedicating her ride to Richard Hatch (no, not the one from Survivor!), a consummate volunteer dedicated to benefiting humankind who gives of himself generously to many community-based organizations and lives by the words of Lord Baden Powell – “to leave the Earth a little better than he found it.”

As a 47-year old recreational cyclist and working mom, Kristin says “If I can do this, others can too. I am also hoping to inspire three other people to participate in a future Climate Ride.”

Welcome Kristin and we look forward to meeting your friends on an upcoming ride or hike!
