About the Role
Climate Ride is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and people-oriented Experience Specialist to support our amazing trip participants while helping to produce Climate Ride’s line-up of charitable events.
This role sits at the intersection of participant experience, event logistics, fundraising support, and organizational operations. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, comfortable juggling multiple projects, and energized by working both behind the scenes and on-site at events.
The ideal candidate is as comfortable managing logistics at a desk as they are leading a group on a gravel bike. This role requires a unique “gear shift”—you might spend one day focused on organized office tasks and the next riding all day before delivering an engaging presentation around a campfire. We are looking for a versatile professional who thrives on variety and enjoys traveling and adventure.
Participant Management (60%)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event participants, providing logistical, training, and fundraising support.
- Develop and execute participant communications plans, including email schedules, guides, and informational resources.
- Create detailed event trip guides covering itineraries, logistics, packing lists, policies, and fundraising expectations.
- Track participant progress and fundraising milestones using CRM and reporting tools; follow up to ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
- Support peer-to-peer fundraising efforts of participants.
- Generate reports to support event planning and production, including catering counts, incentives, and impact statements.
Event Production (20%)
- Assist in the production of small and large Climate Ride and Green Fondo events in various capacities. This includes: Pre-event research, loading equipment, driving vans, trailers, managing inventory, cleaning, and storing equipment at the end of events as needed.
- Act as liaison between hired outfitters and Climate Ride participants to spin a guided trip into a Climate Ride event for trips that Climate Ride doesn’t produce. Requires hiking, biking, or running, and camping while ensuring the trip runs smoothly.
- Include creative programming, speakers, site visits, or educational opportunities that tie the trip to the Climate Ride cause.
- Provide content and trip logistics information for ride guides, web content, and marketing materials.
- Give presentations to acknowledge alumni and top fundraisers and inspire participants to continue engagement with Climate Ride and Climate Ride events. Must be comfortable with public speaking on a variety of topics.
Miscellaneous (20%)
- Assist with general administrative tasks
- Assist with website updates
- Work with a small and efficient team on all aspects of running a conservation-minded non-profit
- General office duties like filing, depositing and managing donations, and organizing
Qualifications:
- Passion for environmentalism and outdoor recreation
- Ability to act in a leadership role with public speaking skills
- Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of database management
- Proficient in Excel, Google Docs, and Email client software
- Close attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, creative, flexible, proactive, and works independently and within a team environment
- Ability to lift 50lbs
