Alex is an avid bike commuter and advocate and has participated in two Climate Rides. In her current role as Director at Elevate, Alex develops effective grant strategies for local and national non-profits with a focus on the education sector. Prior to Elevate, Alex served as the Director of Development for E.L. Haynes Public Charter School, one of the highest performing public schools in Washington, DC. Before transitioning to fundraising, Alex spent much of her career working in international development with a variety of organizations including the World Bank, Yale University’s Innovations for Poverty Action, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Her international work included research and program evaluation of basic education programs in Africa and Latin America. Her interest in education began as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala. Alex holds a Master in Public Administration/International Development from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Latin American Studies from Northwestern University.

Alex participated in Climate Ride NYC-DC 2008 (the first event!) and Climate Ride California 2015.
