Resources for understanding the Climate Ride grantee partnership, outreach, and recruitment
These resources are available to help you understand and promote your grantee status. Grantees are listed on every Climate Ride event (except Glacier Ride and Special Funders Events), so you should always promote all events in your outreach. Your supporters can come to our website and choose the event that they would like to participate in to support you. For those organizations who are not on our public-facing grantee list, your supporters will just need to select “Pending Grantee” when they register, then reach out to their Participant Manager to confirm which organization (yours!) they would like to fundraise for.

Below, you’ll find sample language, images, logos, and photos that you are welcome to customize. You’re welcome to use any of the text below word for word if you’d like! Outreach takes a variety of forms, and your organization knows what makes the most sense for you. Maybe it’s an email from a team member, or a dedicated Instagram campaign (@Climate_Ride). We hope these resources will help you with however you choose to get the word out to your network.
If you decide to organize training rides, group fundraisers, form a team, or host an informational session (details below), you’ll have fresh and fun content to share with your audience.

The more the merrier! Each person who joins an event to fundraise for your org expands your reach and impact that much further.

Grantee teams
Organizations that set up a team for a Climate Ride event can reap numerous benefits. Teams are a great way to build a new community of supporters, grow your presence during an event, boost fundraising, and deepen your commitment to our planet.
Grantees can offer their team members training support, group fundraising opportunities, custom team jerseys, branded swag, or memberships to the organization.
Some organizations have discovered that setting up a team and requiring team members to select their organization as the sole grantee can substantially boost their grant amount. For example:
- Team PODER/BicisdelPueblo created a team of four on their first Climate Ride, Green Fondo California 2022. Together, they raised over $21,000!
- Team BikeLA set up a team of 20 members who had selected only BikeLA as their grantee in 2018. Their grant was more than $88,000!
- On Green Fondo Chautauqua, Team Watershed rallied seven new Climate Riders to raise nearly $80,000 on their first event!
- In 2019, TransForm’s team rallied together to raise over $25,000 for their grant!
Host an informational meeting
Host an info session and get the word out!
A fun way to introduce your supporters or colleagues to Climate Ride is to host a ‘meet and greet’ event. After work happy hours or coffee meetings on the weekend are good venues for an informational event. Or host a video call! In the office place, you could host a brown bag lunch where colleagues bring their lunch to a meeting to learn about Climate Ride. Or make it a ride and just chat as you go!
We can also provide a special discount code for you to give to people who show up. This is a great incentive to share when you’re marketing the event!
If you’re hosting a video call, we may be able to lend you a Climate Ride staff or board member to help answer specific event-related questions. And of course, if you are nearby, we might even be able to show up in person.
Once you have the info session organized, be sure to get the word out! Share the details in a calendar listing, social media post, or through your e-newsletters.

Please note: It is not required that you set up a team. Your organization can only set up a team if you have a designated participant who will captain the team.

Community Leader Awards
Thanks to the support of Climate Riders and our donors, we have non-fundraising spots available to recognize members of your community. We prioritize individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color, low-income, young women, and LGBTQ+ for these awards. Climate Ride Grantees can recommend Community Leaders. If you think a member of your community would be a good candidate for a Community Leader Award, please e-mail Caeli, or invite them to apply via the form below.
