Young Voices on Climate Change (YVCC) was founded with the belief that youth, who will bear the brunt of climate-disruption, can play an essential role in limiting its magnitude and impacts by informing and catalyzing societal change. Young people have the power to persuade parents and the public to act responsibly toward the environment. Their successes empower other youth. YVCC has carved a distinctive niche in the field of climate education and action by championing and publicizing inspirational, authentic and positive youth-led models of success. Our centerpiece project, the Young Voices for the Planet (YVFP) films, showcases intrepid youth speaking out and reducing CO2 while tackling a range of environmental issues through creative win-win solutions. These youth engage local governments, businesses and school administrators while helping their peers develop confidence in themselves as agents of change in the world and encouraging them to take control of their environment and destiny.
