The mission of Trips for Kids Denver Metro is to empower at-risk and disadvantaged youth, using the bicycle as a tool to foster positive life skills, healthy youth development, and a sense of fun and adventure. Since we began in 2004, our programs have connected over 12,000 youth to the wonders of riding a bike!

Ride Program. In partnership with other youth-serving agencies, we provide half-day, day-long and week-long bike experiences for at-risk youth. To-date, 1,084 youth participated in the Ride Program— 30% of these youth were either in an out-of-home placement or involved in a mentoring program designed to keep at-risk youth in school.

Learn-to-Earn Program. Disadvantaged youth earn a bike of their own by completing our multi-session training course which covers the fundamentals of bike maintenance and the rules of urban bike safety. Last year, 200 youth participated in Learn-to-Earn.

[email protected] Program provides disadvantaged high school youth with work readiness training and supervised, hands-on work experience at our full-service community bike shop. Thirty-two youth have interned since 2015.

Lucky Bikes Re-Cyclery connects children, youth and families to affordable bicycle solutions that keep the whole family rolling and active. Lucky Bikes Re-Cyclery is a mission-driven, social enterprise that opened its doors in April 2013 with the purpose of making bicycling more accessible to underserved populations, a youth skills training and career development lab, as well as financial sustainability for the organization.
