Sycamore Land Trust preserves and restores the beautiful natural heritage of southern Indiana–hardwood forests, native prairies, diverse wetlands, agricultural land, migratory bird habitat and critical habitat for threatened and endangered species. We conserve land in twenty-six counties through ownership or holding conservation easements to limit harmful uses while allowing private ownership. Sycamore also teaches environmental education, helping create the next generation of conservationists by instilling a love of nature in children. Since our founding in 1990, we have preserved over 82 properties totaling over 8,000 acres. Our goal is to preserve 20,000 acres by the year 2020.
