The Sierra Club Illinois Chapter is at the forefront of moving Illinois to a clean energy future, and establishing requirements for increasing amounts of renewable energy in our power supply, and major new utility energy efficiency programs. With over 80,000 members and supporters across the state, the Illinois Chapter is working to build a stronger and more diverse climate movement in Illinois. Additionally, the Illinois Chapter is a leader in protecting wild Illinois, including the state’s only national forest–the Shawnee, where we protected seven areas as federally-protected wilderness.
