The Sierra Club is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization, and its work ranges from protecting millions of acres of wilderness to leading the movement away from climate change causing fossil fuels toward a socially just clean energy economy. The Connecticut Chapter is leading campaigns to conserve open space, stop the expansion of fracked gas use and transport, to demand a quick transition to 100% renewable energy, and to promote the electrification of vehicles. Our mission is: To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
