It was widely agreed upon that the Supreme Court's It was widely agreed upon that the Supreme Court's decisions this past week are unacceptable. What action can we take beyond being angry about these decisions? We can fight. Bill MicKibben, a past Climate Ride speaker, wrote a striking article explaining how we can "be the backlash". "If we seize it, we have the best opportunity in many years for reconfiguring American politics", said Bill.

Human pollution has now reached other planets. NAS Human pollution has now reached other planets. NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover found garbage from humans. Our impact from waste is out of this world.

The rover launched on July 30, 2020 and landed on Mars’ Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021. Since then, it has been roaming the planet, looking for evidence of past life.

“My team has spotted something unexpected: It’s a piece of a thermal blanket that they think may have come from my descent stage, the rocket-powered jet pack that set me down on landing day back in 2021,” the account tweeted, alongside a photo of the object squeezed within a rock formation on the surface of Mars. (The Twitter account tweeted from the voice of the rover itself.)

“It’s a surprise finding this here,” the Perseverance Twitter account added, noting that the rover’s descent stage crashed about 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) away from this piece of blanket. “Did this piece land here after that, or was it blown here by the wind?” NASA wondered.

We hope that instances like this will cause the engineers to take action when it comes to securing debris. “And although this particular space-littering instance was certainly an accident, leaving human-created junk behind is actually the norm in most instances of space exploration.” - @greenmatters

Canada for the win. 🙌🏼🇨🇦 The USA & its Canada for the win. 🙌🏼🇨🇦 The USA & its national parks need to step up the pace on banning single-use plastics. Canada is showing that it is possible to make this happen sooner rather than later.

The ban will come into effect in December 2022, and the sale of those plastic items will be prohibited as of December 2023, the government said.
