From the Basics to the Nitty Gritty of Climate Change

Realclimate.org is a commentary site on climate science by actual climate scientists. They have compiled an excellent list of web-based resources to guide you through the basics of climate science to the in depth nitty gritty of scientific reports and the IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) AR4 report.

The Pew Center on Global Climate Change produces analyses of climate science and works to keep policy makers informed on the issues. They have several printable PDF files on basic climate change information.

The National Resources Defense Council global warming basics can be found here.

HOW CAN I REDUCE MY CARBON EMISSIONS?

Ride a Bike!
The average American car driver emits 12,000 lbs of carbon per year. For every mile on the bike, you save 1 lb of carbon. (And for every year of sustained bicycling, a cyclist adds 10 days to her/his life…)

Reduce Your Home's Energy Consumption!
. Home Energy Saver – A web-based home energy audit tool.
. Safe Climate's Energy Consumption Calculator – Use this online calculator to find out how much energy you use by driving, flying and from electricity. This will help you decide where you could reduce your energy consumption and save money on your energy bill.
. Suggestions from Environmental Defense
. The Presidio School of Management put out this list of CO2 reduction tips. Be sure to click on “more tips”. There are several excellent suggestions.
