Join the Climate Ride as we pedal to the U.S. Capitol
Join the Climate Riders for the final stretch in Washington D.C. Bring your bike and ride the last few miles of Climate Ride NYC-DC 2016 with our spectacular riders and crew, from the Thompson Boat House up Constitution Avenue and finally to the U.S. Capitol. Congratulate riders who pedaled 300 miles from New York City and help bring the message of clean energy, sustainability, conservation and bicycle advocacy to our nation’s Capitol. You can join us for the last three miles of the ride or meet us at the Capitol for our arrival.
Thompson Boat House – 2900 Virginia Avenue NW, on the banks of the Potomac River. Riders will gather at the parking lot at Rock Creek Parkway and Virginia Avenue NW.
Wednesday, September 21st, 2016
3:00pm – Riders gather at Thompson Boat Center: Be sure to arrive on your bike for this segment, or pick up a bike from the Capitol Bikeshare!
3:20pm (UPDATED) – Depart en masse for the U.S. Capitol. Riders will pedal all together up Constitution Avenue to the West Front Lawn at the Capitol. Please obey traffic laws and stop for lights.
3:55pm – Arrive at the West Front Lawn of the U.S. Capitol
4:10pm – Senator Edward Markey
4:30pm – Senator Sheldon Whitehouse
We will have a photo opportunity at the Capitol with photographers.
