Already, 18 teams have registered for Climate Ride!  Teams are a great way to gather your friends or colleagues, fundraise together and then pedal from NYC to DC.

Teams can be as small as two or as big as you want!  Jake Stewart, who sent us this picture of riders celebrating in front of the Capitol last year, has started a team called Austin Climate Riders. Look for this team of Texans on a mission to bring the climate message to the Capitol.  Register your team here!

And…congratulations to Team Captain David Campbell of Team Transatlantic Climate Bridge–the first Climate Rider to reach his fundraising goal of $2,400.  He has set a new goal of $5,000. Way to go!

2)Author and Entreprenuer Seth Godin Gives Climate Ride a Shout-Out!Seth Godin Climate Ride Fan.jpg

Best selling author and the most popular business blogger in the world, Seth Godin, featured Climate Ride in a provocative talk at the 2009 TED Conference.  According to Seth, strong leaders come is surprising packages and should not be underestimated! He features the Climate Ride founders as an example of ordinary people who rally others around a cause in an extraordinary way. See Seth’s humorous and entertaining TED talk on “Tribes We Lead” here.  (Climate Ride mention begins at 13:30.)

3) Mark Your Calendar–Climate Riders Hosting a Bike Film Party in DC.  Don’t Miss It!
Pedal Power! On June 11, 2009, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm at the Goethe Institute in Washington DC, Team Transatlantic Climate Bridge is hosting a film reception with presentations by environmental experts, a screening of film “shorts” that examine environmental/cycling issues, Q&A with a professional cyclist, and a reception with light refreshments.  More info here.

4)  Featured Climate Ride Partner:  1% For the Planet

Imagine if every business on Earth gave 1% to environmental causes. “When we consider the enormity of the environmental crisis it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless. Obviously, the solution is not as simple as changing an incandescent bulb to a CFL. But 1% For The Planet is enabling businesses to take a lead role in being environmental stewards and to set an example for the rest of the business community. These companies embrace the notion that the sustainability of the natural environment is fundamental to the sustainability of business.”
