16 Days Left to Join the 2012 Founders Circle and Growth Campaign

Geraldine Carter on December 13, 2012, 10:31 AM

Hello friends,

I’m Geraldine Carter (that’s me in blue in the photo). Five years ago we founded Climate Ride because we saw an urgent need: to curb carbon emissions, to make our transportation systems more bicycle-friendly, to find a path toward sustainability. Today our planet is still in great peril, and it’s telling us we need to get off fossil fuels, fast. Climate change is already having major impacts, and our Earth’s resources are stretched.

I find this scary, depressing, and unacceptable. I don’t want my friends’ houses destroyed in severe weather events, and I don’t want drought-induced crop failures. I want my children to have economic and social opportunities, not live in a world stumbling from one environmental catastrophe to the next.

In five years, Climate Ride has donated more than $1 Million to 45 nonprofits working on these exact issues at a local and national level. Alongside our riders and supporters, we've created a citizens-based movement that helps fund and support these efforts, and we now have a huge opportunity to make this grow.

In order to continue increasing the impact of Climate Ride, we have launched the Founders Circle and Growth Campaign. Our goal is to raise $50,000 so that we can add a third ride in 2014, allowing us to increase awareness and provide even greater support to our beneficiaries. Climate Ride is a 510c3 nonprofit organization and we need your support to deliver these incredible rides.

We are more than halfway to our goal. There are 16 days left to help us reach this goal!  Will you support us?

Thank you so much for supporting Climate Ride.

Warmly,

Geraldine

I proudly support Climate Ride and made a contribution. I did a monthly recurring donation of a smaller amount to make it more affordable. This option is great for those of you who want to support Climate Ride but can’t shell out the cash in one lump sum!
