Supporting New Environmental and Bike Organizations as a Beneficiary
Climate Ride takes unique and innovative approaches to supporting sustainability, renewable energy, and bike advocacy issues. Registered participants can nominate a beneficiary to whom they would like to direct all or part of their fundraising. The nominated beneficiary must meet our mission and criteria and be approved through a review process. This gives riders a way to make an impact on the green movement on both a national and a local level.
Climate Ride currently supports more than 30 non-profit organizations working on solutions in sustainability, renewable energy, climate education, and bicycle advocacy. Unlike other charity events, Climate Ride participants can now suggest new beneficiaries to be added to our list and they can direct their fundraising efforts toward that specific organization.
Since the first ride in 2008, we have heard from many participants about the great work their favorite local organizations are doing, and many times they’ve requested a way to raise money for them. By allowing Climate Riders to select their local organizations as beneficiaries, we can support many more non-profits and make a more significant impact.
***Climate Ride reviews nominations on a rolling basis. Due to the high volume of inquires and nominations, as well as limited availability of beneficiary spots, a nominated organization must have at least one participant signed up specifically to support them. If you are new to Climate Ride and would like to field a team to support your organization, please contact info@climateride.org. ***
Is there a local non-profit organization that you would like to see your fundraising dollars go to support? If so, there are two ways to add a new beneficiary:
1. Register for Climate Ride here. During the registration process, you will be asked which organization you would like to support. There is a write-in selection on that page. Fill in the name of your organization, and then we will work with you and the local non-profit to verify that the organization meets the mission, goals, and criteria for a grant from Climate Ride.
2. Contact us directly to see about the possibility of adding a new beneficiary by emailing info@climateride.org.
We cannot guarantee that all organizations you suggest will be added, and there is an application process to add any new beneficiary. Before contacting Climate Ride, please see the Criteria page to make sure your organization is a good fit for the ride. All new beneficiary organizations must be approved by the Climate Ride Board of Directors before they can be added to the list of approved beneficiaries.
As always, Climate Ride endeavors to maximize its impact clean and green energy, sustainability, and safe cycling. We work hard to bring together hundreds of local and national organizations to share ideas, make connections, and create solutions. Don’t miss this opportunity to help build a global web of environmental support. By riding in Climate Ride, you can make a huge impact, both in your own hometown and for the entire world.
